Debbie read law and graduated with Second Class Honours from Cardiff University. She then completed her Certificate of Legal Practice and was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor in the High Court of Malaya on 19.01.2024.
During her pupillage, she primarily focused on general litigation and conveyancing. She mainly handled applications for winding up and debt recovery cases in general litigation, as well as applications for Consent to Transfer, Sub-Sale, Transfer by Way of Love and Affection and Discharge of Charge in conveyancing.
Debbie began her legal career practicing Criminal Law, where in a short period, she gained significant exposure on Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission “MACC” cases. She subsequently chose to pursue her passion for Probate and Estate Administration by joining Low & Partners as an Associate in the Succession team.
Debbie’s passion for law was inspired by her aunt, Prof. Dr. May Cheong. She is guided by the quote, “Your Only Limit is You,” encapsulates her belief that once she dedicates herself to a goal, nothing can hold her back.
